Lot Description
** French MAS Model 45 .22LR Training Rifle
.22 LR. 24" barrel length. SN: F25752. Parkerized metal finish. Walnut stock with a plain round knob semi pistol grip and forearm. Bolt action rifle with adjustable tangent peep rear sight and ramped blade front sight. Item features a removable magazine, double sling swivels, and a brown leather sling.

These rifles were made after the French occupied the Mauser factory in April 1945. Finding most of the tools and machines in working order, they had Mauser produce the Model 45 for the French military as they did not have a "proper" training rifle yet. Using Mauser KKW action and other components, about 10,000 of the Model 45's were made before the Mauser buildings were demolished in 1946. The equipment was then relocated to St. Etienne where another 30,000 were manufactured.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
