12 gauge. 28" barrel length. SN: 111315. Cylinder Bores. (Mfg. ca.1902) Blued and casehardened metal finish with Damascus steel barrels and a walnut semi-pistol grip stock with splinter forend. Double barrel side by side hammerless boxlock shotgun with extractors and tang mounted safety. The serial numbers on the barrels, forend, and frame all match. Frame features light scroll engraving enclosing three vignettes of a pair of quail. The shotgun shows the frame size 2 marking on the barrel lug and the G model marking on the watertables. The barrel flat features a patent mark reading PAT'D. APR. 11. 1876. Watertables are marked PAT'D JAN JAN. 18. AUG. 16. 1887/MAY 7-OCT. 8. 1885. The shotgun mounts hard rubber buttstock and pistol grip caps featuring PARKER BROTHERS markings. The matted barrel rib shows a banner reading PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL. The buttplate features a deep relief design, and mounts an unsigned escutcheon on the toe. The barrel matting ends abruptly without a border suggesting the barrels were cut down.
Good. Bores are Frosty with some patches of patina and spots of light pitting. The metal finish is a mottled brown patina overall with weakness to the edges of the engraving indicating the item has been buffed and cleaned at some point. The Damascus pattern on the exposed surfaces of the barrels has been obscured by buffing. The stock shows handling wear, dings and mars in addition to some spots of water damage. The markings on the buttplate and pistol grip cap are worn down. The buttplate's checkering has smoothed over in most places. A crack has begun to form on the upper tang of the stock. The forend and buttstock show scattered dings overall with crisp checkering suggesting it was redone at some point. The barrel lockup is loose and wiggles in place. The locking lever lies left of center.
