Lot Description
Pietta Limited Edition 1851 Colt Lone Star Commemorative in Box
.44" Caliber. 7.375" barrel length. SN: 000329. Nickel finish overall with gold plated hammer, trigger, and cylinder, and mounting imitation ivory two piece grips. Single-action six-shot percussion revolver with octagonal barrel and following Colt's Model 1851 Navy pattern. The right barrel shows Italian black powder proof markings followed by the maker mark F. LLI PIETTA-MADE IN ITALY. The top of the barrel is marked LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 2000, with the left showing the caliber marking BLACK POWDER ONLY 44 CAL. Cylinder show's Ormsby's {Naval Engagement} roll engraving, with further engraving appearing on the barrel, frame, loading lever, and hammer. The frame shows spiral scroll engraving surrounded by zigzag border. An entwining line motif carries over the upper barrel flats, with the flanks showing a Lone Star motif within scroll engraving forward of the wedge pin. Item comes in a matching cardboard box marked TRADITIONS with no accessories.

Condition Report
Very Good. Bore is Bright with sharp rifling and some signs of patina forming. The external metal finish displays some tarnish and residue in the engraving on the frame, a light drag line on the cylinder, and a flake to the gold finish on the front of the cylinder. Hammer face shows some blue green oxidation. Grips show some scuffs and light stains. Right panel leaves an open gap on the butt. The box has fraying on the edges, and has one flap and both ears torn off on  one end, along with some peeling to both ends. The foam liner shows some further discolorations and stains. Action times and indexes correctly, but is very heavy over two chambers.
