Lot Description
High Standard American Bicentennial in Box
.36" Caliber. 7.5" barrel length. SN: A0265. Blued metal finish with nickel plated frame, gripstraps, loading lever, arbor pin, and one piece varnished wood grips. Single action six shot percussion revolver with round barrel following a pattern similar to Colt's Model of 1851 revolver. The left barrel is engraved with a {Liberty Bell} with gold lines, while the top of the barrel is marked AMERICAN BICENTENNIAL/1776 1976. Right barrel shows the manufacturer marking HIGH STANDARD/HAMDEN, CT. U.S.A. The revolver comes in a matching walnut presentation case with mauve velvet lining and a commemorative belt buckle. The buckle features a high relief {American Eagle with Shield, Arrows, and Flags} surrounded by the text SPIRIT OF AMERICA 1776 BICENTENNIAL 1976. The interior lid is marked in gold lettering AMERICAN BICENTENNIAL/{13 Star Flag}/..."the right of the peole to keep and bear arms/shall not be infringed." bracketed by the dates 1776 and 1976. The exterior is leatherette lined, and features a color image of Willard's famous "Spirit of '76" painting. A key is included in a paper envelope.

Condition Report
Very Good to Near Excellent. Bore retains sharp rifling throughout with some dust and signs of patina forming. The external metal finish shows a light abrasion to the right edge of the hammer, scratch to the rear recoil shield, a pinpoint stain on the left grip, and a pair of light dents at the forward edge of the left grip. The belt buckle is in Excellent condition. Case shows some scuffs along the edges, and some abrasions to the lid. Action has not been tested to preserve finish.
