Lot Description
**CMP U.S. Springfield M1 Garand National Match Rifle
Korean War
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 6094289. Parkerized metal finish overall with walnut semi-pistol grip stock mounting national match pattern rear peep and front blade sights with protectors. Long stroke piston driven gas operated rifle fed by an internal box magazine charged with en bloc clips. Receiver marking reads U.S. RIFLE/CAL. .30 M1/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY followed by the serial number which indicates the rifle was originally manufactured in the final block of Springfield M1s from 1955-1957. The Rifle shows the NM marking for "National Match" to the rear sight operating rod, barrel, and front sight base. Stock markings include the {US Ordnance Department Inspection} marking on the left side, and Circle P mark to the wrist. Barrel is struck with a further Ordnance Department mark, along with the date marking 6 54 MD 40, and drawing number SA F8535448. The rifle mounts an unmarked Model 1905 pattern sling, and the stock is void of tools. Rifle shows a throat erosion reading of 2 and 1 at the muzzle.

Condition Report
Good. Bore is Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish shows some light scratches on the gas cylinder and light edgewear. Some internal cycling wear along with operating abrasion to the right barrel. Wood stock shows some scattered light dings and mars. The trapdoor is rusted along its inner surface with some mold through the ports for the cleaning kit. Sling shows mold residue overall with cracking and abrasions. Rifle shows a throat erosion reading of 2 and 1 at the muzzle.
