Lot Description
**Hungarian M52 Mosin-Nagant Pattern 91/30 PU Sniper Rifle Non-Import Marked
7.62x54mmR. 28.7" barrel length. SN: BC7226. Blued metal finish with polished bolt, full length birch furniture, and mounting a fixed magnification PU pattern telescopic sight and turned down bolt handle. Bolt action repeating rifle fed by an internal magazine and mounting adjustable rear leaf and fully hooded front post sights. The barrel shank shows the 02 factory marking above a date marking of 1954. Further 02 markings appear on the scope mount, scope base, right stock, buttplate, barrel bands, forend cap, extractor, bolt, and cocking piece. The right stock shows an additional circle B marking and circled 10 mark. The scope mount is struck 55 within a circle on its left side, and the scope itself shows the markings 41/1954/528276 followed by the number 7226, matching the scope to this rifle. The bolt serial number matches the barrel shank as well as the magazine floorplate. The rifle has no importer marks. This rare variant of the famed sniper Mosin pattern rifle is seldom encountered in the United States, particularly without import markings. Though produced after the end of World War II, rifles of this pattern did see combat in the hands of North Vietnamese aligned forces during the Vietnam War.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
