Lot Description
** Fine Late Production 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver
.45 Colt. 7.5" barrel. SN: 346422 (mfg. ca.1924). Blued and color casehardened finish, smooth two-piece ivory grips. Single action solid frame revolver with loading gate, smokeless powder frame, frame notch rear sight, blade front sight and fluted six-chambered cylinder. Barrel with late production one-line address, lower left of frame with three-date in two-line patent marking, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Serial number on frame only, correct for these late production guns with both grip panels pencil numbered 346422 on their interiors.
Condition Report
Fine. Bore fine, mostly bright with some frosting and crisp blackpowder rifling. Metal retains much of the blue and color casehardened finish with thinning and fading and the case colors dulling with age. Mechanically functional. Crisp action with four distinct "clicks" when cocking the hammer. Ivory grips fine with some minor age surface cracks and striations.
