7 in. x 4 1/4 in. (sight)The Du Simitier portrait of Penn, published by John Hall, London, 1773, was after a bust of William Penn created by the English Quaker apothecary and sculptor, Silvanus Bevan (1691-1765). The Bevan bust of Penn was a proud possession of Du Simitier, "being the only likeness extant of that truly great man," and displayed in his rooms at Mrs. Robinson's on Chestnut street.
