Scarce Catalogue of F.A. Rinehart's Photographs of American Indians
Rinehart, F.A. Rinehart's Prints of American Indians. Omaha, NE: n.p., 1900. Small 24mo, printed card stock covers, staple and glued binding, 79pp, nearly half with three photomechanical images per page of American Indians.
A commercial portrait photographer from Omaha, NE, Rinehart was commissioned by the government to photograph the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition, held there in 1898. Rinehart captured many striking portraits during his tenure as official photographer of that event, at the 1899 Greater America Exposition, and at the Crow Agency in Montana beginning in 1900.
