Lot Description
Buck Taylor, "King of the Cowboys," Imperial Size Photograph

Albumen photograph, 5 x 7.25 in., on 5.5 x 7.75 in. mount, photographer unknown, ca 1889-1890. An outdoor view of Taylor mounted on horseback, with pistol tucked in his gun holster, likely taken around the time when he left Buffalo Bill's Wild West to start his own short-lived show.

William Levi "Buck" Taylor (1857-1924), a real cowboy, worked on Cody's Scout's Rest Ranch in Nebraska, and with the organization of the Buffalo Bill's Wild West, became one of the stars of the show, remaining with Cody until around 1890.

This lot is located in Cincinnati.
