Lot Description
Lot of 5 Bayonets Including: French, British, German
1.) 22.75" blade length. 28.125" overall with scabbard and hilt. Single edged Yatagan style bayonet with brass hilt and blued metal scabbard. Spine is marked Tulle Novembre 1873, indicating it to be a Model 1866 Chassepot bayonet. Serial numbers to scabbard and bayonet do not match.

2.) 20.5" blade length. 25.125" with blade and hilt. Cruciform spike bayonet with silver alloy grip and retaining its guard. Model 1886 bayonet intended for use with the Lebel rifle. Item shows French inspection stamps to major parts.

3.) 16" sealed plastic package containing a bayonet and scabbard with the label reading BAIONETTE FSA 49/56.

4.) 11.2" blade length. 17.5" overall with scabbard and hilt. Possible reproduction single edged VZ 24 rifle bayonet with blued metal finish overall and mounting walnut grips. Ricasso is struck CSZ/M, and the scabbard shows a circle Z marking above an inspection stamp. Serial number AR8663 marked on the pommel via electropen with two more rows of marks struck out on the pommel. Tang struck F3 {Czech Lion} 39.

5.) 8" blade length. 10.6" overall with scabbard and socket. Number 9 pattern single edge blade bayonet for Enfield rifles with black Suncorite finish to all metal scabbard, socket, and ricasso. Finish shows signs of beading, suggesting it has been arsenal reapplied, rendering the marks weak. {Broad Arrow} mark visible on the latch.

Condition Report
1.) Good. Blade shows gray mottling overall with pinpoint pitting. Guard is a brown patina. Hilt tarnished and the scabbard shows some flaked losses to the blue and flecked oxidation.

2.) Good. Blade has gray mottling overall and is bent downward. Hilt has tarnish to the grips and a brown patina dominating over the guard.

3.) Fair to Good. Condition is difficult to discern with the clouded plastic of the package, but the belt loop shows clear signs of mold forming overall.

4.) Excellent. Blade fully encased in grease and shows clean edges and a strong blue. Some loss of blue on the edges of the guard with scattered scratches over the pommel.

5.) Good. Blade is bright with a clean edge and some mottled gray patina forming. Suncorite finish flaking off the socket and ricasso but strong on the scabbard. Item shows scattered scratches overall.
