Pillow Pommel American Short Saber
American Revolution, War of 1812
26.75" blade length. 32.5" with scabbard and hilt. Curved single edge blade with triple fullers mounting a brass hilt with knuckle bow, a pillow pommel, and varnished walnut grips. Blade is unsigned, and retained by a peened tang. Spacers to the flanks of the blade within cutout to guard. Quillon is curved slightly downward. "Pillow" pommels were a popular component on American swords manufactured from the late 18th century through approximately 1815.
