8vo. Original cloth-backed boards, spine lettered in silver (some minor toning, a touch of wear to spine ends); dust jacket (slight toning, a few tiny chips and short closed tears). Provenance: Peg and Jim North (inscription from Wallace Stegner on the front flyleaf).
FIRST TRADE EDITION. INSCRIBED BY STEGNER: "For Peg and Jim North. Cordially, Wallace Stegner." The Spectator Bird won the National Book Award for Fiction in 1977.
