8vo. 8 plates by T.M.R. Whitwell. (Some short tears with cellotape repairs especially to preliminary leaves, some toning and spotting). Original red cloth pictorially stamped in light blue, yellow, and black (lacking scarce dust jacket, spine slanted and hinges loose, some light wear and rubbing, some minor wormholing to gutter at the head affecting pastedown and first few leaves).
FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE with one leaf of advertisements at the end featuring 3 Wodehouse titles. First Serialized between October 1903 to March 1904 in The Captain, The Gold Bat is a tale of schoolboy honor, pranks, a golden cricket bat, and a secret society. Connolly 4; McIlvaine A4a.
