Condition Report
extremely solid and heavy, and visually impressive; the figures with faux brown patination, which appears to be a coating over a darker substrate, with some minor occasional areas of chipping or flaking; some of the candle arms are slightly loose at the screw connection, and at least one appears to have a later screw added; the bases each with a detached paw foot (feet are present), one of which has old epoxy residue and glued washers from former repair, and the other foot retaining some fragments of adhesive and the attached porphyry which chipped off the blocks; another foot which is attached showing signs of having been re-glued; the edges of porphyry block feet with some chipping or surface losses along edges, some appeared to be filled; one base with one slightly loose crest mount, and the other crest mount missing a screw, so it hangs off the upper gilt bronze molding; the gilt bronze with some occasional minor green oxidation, particularly to the paw feet; both torcheres are presently electrified with plugs and switches, but the wiring is old and coming loose, some wires wrapped with electrical tape, and overall the wiring should be replaced for functionality and safety concerns
