First edition of Dutch author, and American Revolution sympathizer, Adriann Loosjes' lyrical poem celebrating the newly founded United States. The work is dedicated to John Adams, U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands, and Loosjes congratulates America on its independence, while calling upon his fellow country to take up arms for similar ideals.

The work also includes "Bylaagen ter opheldering van de gedenkzuil der vryverklaaring van de dertien vereenigde staaten van Noord-Amerika bestande in requesten, berichten, resolution, enz", relating to the recognition of America as a legitimate nation by several states of the Netherlands, as well as two celebratory songs in English, one commemorating the 4th of July.

Very scarce. According to RBH this is the first copy to come to auction since 1920.
