First and limited edition, #160/175 numbered copies privately printed on Velin de Rives a la cuve paper, and signed by the illustrator, Mario Avati, in pencil on colophon (from a total edition of 223). 8vo. Text printed in blue and in black. Illustrated with mezzotint frontispiece and 24 mezzotints, by Avati. With an additional original pencil drawing by Avati laid in (Two Poissons, mezzotint appears on p. 19), signed and dated (1960) by him in top right; in a window mounted bifolium sheet. Loose gatherings, as issued, laid into publisher’s stiff printed wrappers, in glassine; scattered light foxing to text; in publisher’s white paper-covered chemise and black faux-suede slip case.
