First edition. 12mo. 51, (1) pp. Presentation copy, inscribed by Maurice Sendak, on a laid in card, to Lynn Caponera, his long-time caretaker: "A very special book for a very special Lynn--on her birthday! With all my love Maurice May (April) '90". Illustrated by Potter. Publisher's tan paper-covered pictorial boards, stamped in green in the design of a shop facade with a pictorial paper cover label depicting Peter Rabbit, scattered soiling, extremities rubbed; all edges trimmed; pictorial endpapers; Sendak's illustrated book-plate on verso of front free endpaper; light wrinkling to prelims.
