17 7/8 x 15 3/8 in. albumen photograph on 20 1/8 x 17 3/8 in. cardstock mount. Credited to Gutekunst on mount recto. Verso bears applied paper label printed for Gutekunst with date "Nov [187]3" accomplished in pencil, and additional pencil inscriptions.
A previously unknown photograph of renowned actor Edwin Booth, brother of Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth. A rare, and exceptionally large image, capturing Booth at the height of his career.
