Lot Description
A Corinthian Black-Figured Amphoriskos
Middle Corinthian, Circa 600-575 B.C.
Height 6 3/8 inches (17.1 cm).
Property from a California Private Collection

Provenance:
Ulfert Wilke, founding director of the University of Iowa Art Museum, acquired in Rome in the 1950s-60s.
Howard Sirak, Ohio, acquired from above between 1975-1977.
Acquired by the current owner from the above in 2015.

Note:
With an animal frieze including two panthers and a cow, a swan and a panther on the shoulder. Two old collection stickers on the underside.
Condition Report
A few small repairs with minor fill in the breaks along the body and the shoulders.  The neck and handles repaired with some fill and overpainting.  Surface wear, minor chips and losses throughout.  Some incrustation.
