LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865). Autograph note signed ("A. Lincoln"). [Washington, D. C.?], 3 Nov, 1864.
1-page, on a 2 x 3 1/4-in. card, a few letters smudged, with recipient's name, "M. L. Cullen," added in ink.
In full: "Allow the bearer transportation from Washington to Pittsburgh, Penn." Written just 5 days before the 1864 election, in which Lincoln would defeat General George B. McClellan by an Electoral College margin of 212-21 to be re-elected as President.
