Lot Description
[HARRISON, William Henry]. A group of 6 William Henry Harrison memorial ribbons.
3 x 9 in. printed silk ribbon with black semi-sheer bow and borders (some losses to black trim ribbon, some creasing). Features a portrait of Harrison above a monument with four flags. Monument with the phrase: "Sacred to the Memory of Departed Worth," and below: "President, Gen. William Henry Harrison born in Virginia, February 9, 1773, Died, April 4, 1841, Aged 68 Years, 1 month, and 26 days.
3 1/8 x 8 3/8 in. printed silk ribbons (minor spotting). A portrait of Harrison is flanked with the text: "Gen. W.H. Harrison, Inaugurated March 4th 1841. Born February 9th 1773. Died April 4th 1841.
2 x 7 3/8 in. printed picot-edge silk ribbon (minor spotting). An eagle at top with the text: "In Remembrance of Wm. Henry Harrison, the Nation's Late President Who Died April 4, 1841. Funeral Honors Paid to his Memory, at Philadelphia April 20, 1841." At center is a stylized tableau with Harrison's birth, inauguration, and death dates.
Approx. 3 1/8 x 6 1/2 in. printed silk ribbon (previously affixed with residue at both edges, stains). A thick black border encloses the text: "The Unionists' Association. In Commemoration of William Henry Harrison."
2 7/8 x 7 3/8 in. printed picot-edge watered silk ribbon (toned, spotting, pinholes at top from previous use). Featuring a large portrait of Harrison. In several fonts the text reads: "In Memory of Departed Worth" followed by birth and death information followed by a quote attributed as the "Dying words of Harrison:" "Sir, -- I wish you to understand the true principles of the Government. I wish them carried out. I ask nothing more."
2 7/8 x 9 3/4 in. printed silk ribbon with hand-stitched black picot-edge ribbon border and two bows (toned, large stain at top). A portrait of Harrison flanked by an eagle and flags with the text "The Late President of the United States."
