Lot Description
[HARRISON, Benjamin]. Albumen photographs showing Harrison and Morton campaign and Republican log cabins. 

Outdoor group portrait of a Benjamin Harrison political rally. [Kansas City, MO]: N.p., [1888]. 7 5/8 x 5 5/8 in. albumen on cardstock mount (toned, spotting). Pencil inscription to verso identifies place and several subjects. A group of behatted men and several children pose outside of a large log cabin festooned with patriotic flag bunting, a giant "Harrison and Morton" sign, and framed portraits of the candidates. 

[With:] Republican Headquarters, Great Falls, N.H., Campaign of 1888. Great Falls, NH: Burgess & Etter, 1888. 5 3/4 x 4 in. albumen cabinet photograph on cardstock mount (some spotting). Photographer's imprint and image title printed to mount verso. An outdoor image of a log cabin with a porch. Along the ridge is a large jugate portrait of Benjamin Harrison and Levi Morton flanked by a sign reading "Republican Headquarters." The roof is also festooned with three signs reading "Oregon 7,000. / Vermont 27,000. / Maine 20,000."

[Also with:] Outdoor image of "Republican Club Headquarters" log cabin. West Winsted, CT: K.T. Sheldon, ca 1888. 7 3/4 x 4 1/2 in. albumen on cardstock mount (spotting, toned). Photographer's imprint to verso. Two children stand in front of a log cabin made of substantial logs and its roof still under construction. A sign identifies the building as the "Republican Club Headquarters," likely themed for the campaign of Benjamin Harrison.
