7 1/8 x 4 1/4 in. albumen boudoir photograph on cardstock mount (light scuffing, minor fading/toning). Titled in negative: "Pine Ridge Agency S.D." with copyright statement, figures identified, and image numbered 109. Verso with Trager & Ford's imprint and the pencil inscription "So. Dakota Wounded Knee."
Photograph of four men on horseback, scouting an Indian camp near Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota on 16 January 1891, following the massacre at nearby Wounded Knee. The subjects are identified in the negative as (left to right): Buffalo Bill Cody, Captain Baldwin, General Nelson A. Miles, Ben Carr (in the background, unmounted), and Captain Moss.
