Lot Description
Illustrated Catalogue of Arms & Military Goods. [New York]: [Schuyler, Hartley & Graham]: [1864].
4to. Profusely illustrated including folding color plate of international flags. (Approximately 66 pages have been removed, very occasional light spotting.) One quarter brown calf gilt with brown cloth boards gilt, extra-gilt "Hd. Qrs. Dept. of Ohio" (rubbing to joints and corners).
A war-era catalogue that includes descriptions of articles of clothing and accoutrements for each rank and branch of service, horse equipment, flags, and Table of Pay. Military goods include swords, sword belts, hat cords, shoulder straps, epaulettes, hat and cap ornaments, Army corps badges (1st, 2d, 3d, 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th), spurs, tassels, eagles and spearheads for flags, and field glasses. Also includes items and regulations for the Navy, arms and ammunition, state seals, etc. Used extensively by Mr. Frasca when authenticating war-time material.
