Civil War hardtack with penciled inscriptions identifying it to Corporal Wesley L. Jarvis of Co. K, 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
4 1/2 x 4 1/2 in. cracker displaying penciled inscription, "Chattanooga Ten 1863" on one side and "L.W. Jarvis" on the other. Accompanied by typed tag reading, "Civil War Hardtack. Brught [sic] back at the close of the Civil War by L.W. Jarvis a veteran of that war."
Once thought to be post Civil War, the period issue of these extra large pieces by the Union Army is well substantiated by photographic support.
