Lot Description
Civil War-era small hinged game box.
4 3/4 x 3 x 1 3/8 in. embossed paper and wood box (fully separated at hinge, loss to paper in several spots, dark patina). Bottom exterior blindstamped "Made in Italy," bottom interior lined with period newsprint. Box contains 14 wooden dominos and 6 small bone dice.
These game pieces were widely used by Civil War soldiers in camp.
