A Federal Cherrywood Chest of Drawers

Circa 1810

Height 42 x width 41 1/2 x depth 21 1/4 inches.

Condition Report

In overall fine and stable condition. retaining a fairly even color and patina throughout. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Some age cracks visible to the top. Smooth drawer action, likely thanks to the replaced drawer runners. The top two drawers, previously fitted with Quaker locks, portions of which are retained, but may not be the originals. The drawer pulls are replaced, with small associated patches visible to the fronts of the lower three drawers. Lacks a key for the bottom three drawers. The proper rear right stile was previously cracked and patched (about 1" high), but the foot appears to be the original.
