A Federal Carved and Figured Mahogany Bow-Front Chest of Drawers

Massachusetts, Circa 1815

interior of backboards inscribed December 26.
Height 41 1/4 x width 44 3/4 x depth 21 1/4 inches.

Condition Report

In overall good and stable condition. Retaining a fairly even finish throughout, though lightly faded in color. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Few areas of veneer loss. Age cracks to the top and one to the proper left side panel. The proper back right leg is slightly loose, but strong enough to continue to support the chest. One of the drawers has been rebuilt. Hardware is replaced.
