Hindman’s Jewelry and Timepieces Department handles jewelry from individuals, estates, and institutions. Known for achieving excellent selling results through a worldwide network of bidders, our Important Jewelry auctions feature signed pieces by Buccellati, Bulgari, Cartier, David Webb, Harry Winston, Schlumberger, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, and Verdura, among many others. We specialize in diamonds, colored gemstones, gold, and artisan silver jewelry, with a focus on highlighting the most unique examples from the antique to the contemporary.

Fine Timepieces

Our Fine Timepieces auctions feature timepieces from the 16th century to the present day, including pocket watches, wristwatches, tourbillons, and perpetual calendars. They showcase works by makers such as Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Carl F. Bucherer, Cartier, Franck Muller, Hérmes, IWC, Panerai, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Rolex, Tag Heuer, Tiffany & Co., Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels, and many others.

Kimberly Burt is the Director of the Fine Jewelry and Timepieces Department.

Kimberly began her career by joining Sotheby’s jewelry department in 2000, where she became a Junior Specialist.  Building on her years at Sotheby’s, Kimberly cultivated a career in luxury marketing and public relations, initially heading up the Public Relations department at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, before moving to LVMH where she led consumer development and marketing efforts for Dom Perignon and Moet & Chandon in the central US.  In 2011, Kimberly launched a luxury marketing and PR consulting firm, retaining the Moet Hennessy portfolio as an anchor client, representing brands such as Dom Perignon, Veuve Clicquot, Moet & Chandon, Ruinart, as well as working with other clients such as Bulgari, Huntsman and many others.  In 2019 Kimberly joined Hindman as the Director of Jewelry and Timepieces.  She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and is an active member of the Woman’s Board of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Arts Club of Chicago.

Business Development and Senior Specialist, Jewelry and Timepieces

Katie Guilbault is the director of business development for the Jewelry and Timepieces Department at Hindman.

As a certified gemologist, Ms. Guilbault travels the country evaluating important jewelry collections and items from all time periods. She first joined the firm in 2003 as an account executive and was later promoted to director of fine jewelry and director of consignments. She left Hindman in 2007, spending the next eight years working for Chicago jeweler Trabert & Hoeffer as an appraiser and sales associate. Ms. Guilbault then started her own jewelry consulting business, providing fine jewelry appraisals and custom design services. She returned to Hindman in 2017, bringing over ten years of appraisal expertise to the Jewelry and Timepieces Department. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.

Jamie Henderson is a specialist in the Jewelry and Timepieces Department at Hindman.

Ms. Henderson joined the firm in 2011 as an account executive and has held several positions, including cataloguer and associate specialist. She was promoted to specialist in 2017. She researches and evaluates thousands of items for Hindman’s clients and specializes in antique, vintage, and artisan jewelry; fine timepieces; and silver jewelry. Previously, Ms. Henderson laser-inscribed diamonds for Professional Gem Sciences Laboratory, worked for Finlay Fine Jewelry, and was a cataloguer for the Haifa Faisal Collection of Saudi Arabia Traditional Arts. Ms. Henderson has a B FA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a member of the Association for the Study of Jewelry & Related Arts and the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors.

Marisa Ackerman is a specialist in the Jewelry and Timepieces Department at Hindman.

Ms. Ackerman brings over 15 years of retail experience to her role as a specialist at Hindman. Most recently, she earned her certification in gemology and worked as the in-store appraiser and sales consultant for Hurdle’s Jewelry in Boulder, Colorado. She developed long-standing relationships with clients and helped guide them in their jewelry purchases and insuring their collections. At Hindman she combines her passion for jewelry with her educational background. Ms. Ackerman has a BA in history from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

Nicole Gunn is a specialist in the Jewelry and Timepieces Department at Hindman.

In this role, Mrs. Gunn meets with clients across the Southeast region to evaluate their private jewelry collections and bring their special heirlooms to auction. Ms. Gunn has 23 years of experience in the jewelry world, most recently spending almost a decade as a concierge jeweler. After working in Boston and London, she returned to her native Florida, where she joined the Hindman team in 2018. Mrs. Gunn holds a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America.
