A Louis XVI Gilt Bronze Mounted Mahogany Bureau Plat by Claude-Charles Saunier (French, 1735-1807)
Circa 1770
stamped C.C. SAUNIER and JME to the underside, the top with an inset leather writing surface.

Condition Report
Overall fine and stable condition. Retaining a fairly even patina throughout. Bronze mount with light tarnish in few areas. Scuffs, marks, and scratches throughout, in particular to the leather writing surface where an underlying age crack to the top board and slides has caused a couple of small cracks to the leather. Lacks a key to drawers.
