A Louis XVI Gold and Enameled Snuff Box
Last Quarter 18th Century
of oval form, the lid centered with an enamel plaque depicting Classical figures in a garden setting surrounded by a foliate border, the lid, sides and underside with a red guilloche ground with star paillon patterned decoration, the borders decorated with alternating enameled floral and foliate motifs.

Condition Report
In overall good, stable condition. some surface dirt to stippled gold ground along border. The green foliate enamel banding on lid and underside with a few small flakes and areas where enameling didn't hold during production, does not detract from overall aesthetic unless viewed closely with a loupe. Examination under UV light shows a small (approximately 1/4 inche) area of restoration to white banding enamel on front of side of box. No other significant condition issues noted.
