Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Sixth plate tintype of armed cavalrymen in mock combat. 

2 3/8 x 3 1/4 in. trimmed tintype portrait. (Corners trimmed, few spots of loss to image, bending, spotting to mat; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface wear). Two subjects wearing cavalry uniforms pose as if engaged in combat, one armed with a sword and pistol points his pistol at the other's chest. Painted backdrop, including an American flag, features subtle hand coloring.
