2 Civil War covers, carried on the U.S.S. Richmond sloop of war: Unillustrated cover to Miss Kate Slavin, New Orleans, LA. Postmarked New York, 2 June 1863. With 1861 3-cent issue stamp. -- Unillustrated cover to John R. Winthrop Esq, Brooklyn, NY. Postmarked "U.S. Ship 3 CTS."   

[With:] Why don't you take it? Postmarked from Fredonia, NY, 23 August 1862. With 1861 3-cent stamp. Illustrated with 2 dogs facing off over rack of meat labeled "Washington" with one dog labeled "Scott" (General Winfield Scott) and the other "Jeff." (Confederate President Jefferson Davis). -- Patriotic cover with eagle and flag illustration. Postmarked from Washington, D.C., 1 June 1863. With 1861 3-cent stamp.
