8 x 5 7/8 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (light fading). Period ink inscription to mount recto: "Grave of J.E.B. Stuart, Richmond, Va."
An outdoor view of the obelisk marking the grave of General Stuart in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA. Fatally wounded at the Battle of Yellow Tavern, he was transported to the Confederate capital where he died after a visitation from Confederate president Jefferson Davis.
