Portion of Framework of Zeppelin Brought Down in Essex By the Aircraft Defences Sept. 23/24 1916. Sold for the Benefit of the L.&N. W. R War Seal Fund. Sight 9 1/2 x 7 /12 in. color print with 3 1/4 x 3/4 in. metal object wired to print (some offsetting, not examined out of frame). -- Victory 1918. N.p., [1918?]. Approx. 4 1/4 x 5 3/4 in. metal souvenir horseshoe (paint residue, some discoloration). -- Le 75 et ses Crèateurs [The 75 and its Creators]. N.p., n.d. 10 3/4 x 11 1/2 in. olive green silk handkerchief. Printed with Allies' flags and jugate portraits of Colonel Deport and Genl Sainte Claire Deville, the inventors of the 75mm field gun. -- after HEWITT, Albert. The Humanity Flag "Auxilioi Dei." New York and Chicago: Thos. E. Wilson & Co., [1918]. 13 7/8 x 10 3/4 in. color print on cardstock (scuff, wear to edges). Titled in image, paper label with title and publication information to verso. An example vexillographic utopianism, the artist has combined the flags of Allied nations, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, touting "this flag will make the World safe for Democracy and Humanity." -- Together, 4 items of World War I ephemera.
