Also contains 2 notices for African American freedom seekers. -- Illinois Advocate. Vol. IV, No. 52. Vandalia, IL: John York Sawyer, 1 July 1835. Contains interior page reference to Martin Van Buren as Democratic-Republican candidate for President. With contemporary inscription above masthead: "Clerk of the Con.
