Housed in a broken case (full separation and loss). Pencil inscription in back of case reads, "Taken at New London April 9th 1862 the day before his leaving for Port Royal." The seated NCO has curly hair and wears his uniform complete with sleeve insignia and gold-highlighted buttons.
