Cabinet card portrait of Admiral Farragut in uniform. New York: Sarony, n.d. 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (toning, light soiling and wear to mount edges and corners). -- Copy half portrait of CSN Rear Admiral Raphael Semmes in uniform. N.p., n.d. 3 1/4 x 5 1/8 in. silver gelatin print mounted in modern cardstock mat (some creasing and light surface wear to image). -- Together, 2 portraits of uniformed naval officers.
Admiral David Glasgow Farragut is best remembered for the Battle of Mobile Bay and his order "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead."
Raphael Semmes (1809-1877) commanded the Confederate commerce raider, CSS Alabama.
