A Queen Anne Volute Carved Walnut Flat-Stretcher Pad-Foot Side Chair
Rhode Island, Circa 1750
the front seat rail marked V, appears to retain the original slip-seat and traces of a historic surface, with a needlepoint upholstered slip seat dated 1927.
Height 40 x width 21 1/2 inches.

A near identical example, identified as Boston, sold at Sotheby's New York, January 20, 2012, lot 229.
Both mentioned examples show a drop on the front seatrail, while this example does not appear to have had one.
