[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 19 daguerreotype portraits of interesting pairs and groups of subjects
Sixth plate group portrait of 4 young women, 2 of whom are holding hands. (Tarnishing to edges, clouding and chemical deterioration to bottom portion, few scratches; retains portion of original seals.) Housed under mat, glass, and preserver, no case. -- Quarter plate portrait of a young man sanding between a pair of seated young women, one of whom holds a book on her lap. (Wiping, surface scratching, and a few spots to plate, spotting to mat and preserver; resealed 1995.) Housed in a pressed paper case (separation to upper and right edge of bottom of case, repair to spine, general surface wear and finish loss throughout). -- Sixth plate portrait of a trio including 2 young men and one young woman, one of the young men holding a walking stick and the woman's hand, staring off-camera. (Light tarnishing to certain edges, minor spotting; resealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (general wear throughout). Note behind image provides the names and ages of 3 young men, likely not matching the subjects shown here. -- And 16 others, including 2 quarter plate examples and 14 sixth plate examples. -- Together, 19 daguerreotype portraits of groups of people.
