[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 12 daguerreotype portraits of female subjects holding cased images, including:

Sixth plate seated portrait of two young women holding cased images in their laps, the one on the right with her case open, revealing the image. (Light tarnishing to edges, few spots and imperfections througout; unsealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (significant wear throughout). The image features a daguerreian circular border around the subjects, who both wear somewhat sullen or concerned expressions. -- Ninth plate seated portrait of a girl wearing a patterned dress and holding what appears to be a daguerreian locket up to her chest, the image visible to the camera. (Tarnishing to edges; original seals.) Housed in a pressed paper case (surface wear, velvet pad missing). -- And 10 other sixth plate portraits. -- Together, 12 daguerreotypes of female subjects with cased images.
