[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 17 daguerreotype portraits of siblings, including:
Sixth plate landscape-oriented close-up portrait of a brother and sister posed affectionately. (Tarnishing to edge, minor spotting and some scratching and other imperfections to plate, oxidation to preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (general wear). -- Sixth plate period copy portrait of a pair of young boys, likely brothers. (Heavy tarnishing to edges, heavy spotting, clouding, and major imperfections throughout, oxidation to mat, glass with loss to upper left corner; retains original seals.) Housed in a pressed paper case (heavy wear to surfaces). Interior of case features ink inscription reading, "John A. Prindle Copy 20443 Print to vignette the youngest boys [indecipherable] out [indecipherable] 6 prints." Loose period note behind image reads, "Taken in No. Ferrisburgh Vt. Soon after we had been most thoroughy exposed to Small Pox and were certainly going to have it and probably die. We were vaccinated with human virus 13 times in 11 days and it worked most thoroughly, and we did not have it. H.E. Prindle." -- Quarter plate landscape-oriented portrait of a group of 5 likely siblings. (Tarnishing to edges, clouding, spotting, and residue throughout plate, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a half paper case (missing an entire edge, surface wear throughout). -- And 14 others, including one quarter plate example and 13 sixth plate examples. -- Together, 17 daguerreotype portraits of siblings.
