Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 7 lockets containing 14 daguerreotypes including couples.
Largest 1 7/8 x diam., smallest 1 7/16 in. diam. Lockets with some dents, surface wear/scratching, and tarnishing; one with cover missing. Many with engraved scenes and/or initials. Images include 2 daugerreotypes of couples, and 12 daguerreotypes of individuals, mostly housed together in sweetheart lockets. One portrait of a woman with glasses is housed in her own locket opposite a lock of what is presumably her hair. Daguerreotypes having varing amounts of tarnish, spotting, and other chemical deterioration; 2 portraits housed in the same locket are cracked into multiple pieces.
