Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A trio of tintypes featuring pairs or groups of men, some military.

Sixth plate portrait of a group of young possible militia men goofing around and smoking cigars. Ca 1870s-80s. (Bending, denting, some spotting and other surface imperfections to plate, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a presed paper case (surface wear thorughout). -- Quarter plate portrait of a pair of bearded civilian men sitting next to one another. Ca mid-19th century. (Image rather dark, with some surface abrasions including scratches and wiping; unsealed.) Housed in a border-style frame under mat, glass, and preserver. -- Sixth plate portrait of two men wearing Civil War-era infantry great coats. (Image with heavy damage including rusting, image loss, plate denting and bending, and surface abrasions; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (parts missing, separation to parts, wear throughout). -- Together, 3 tintypes.
