Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A collection of daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, & CDVs.

Ambrotype of a young girl, her cheeks lightly tinted pink, seated in a studio, 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 in. (sight), matted and housed in gilt frame, 9 x 10 in. (image unexamined outside frame, some spotting to plate, surface wear to frame, frame backing reinforced with modern tape). -- 3 sixth plate daguerreotypes, including portraits of a distinguished man, a middle-aged woman, and an older woman wearing a bonnet and spectacles, each housed in a half case. -- 7 ambrotypes of women and children (1 sixth plate, 5 ninth plate, 1 sixteenth plate), each housed in a half case with the exception of the image of the infant being held by a woman, which is housed in a full case. -- CDV-sized, hand-tinted tintype of a young girl under paper mat with identification in lower margin. 

[With:] 2 prints (possibly photogravures), including a studio portrait of a young man seated at a table upon which his top hat rests, 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 in. (image size, not including margins), and an oval studio portrait of a young girl holding an object in her hand, 6 x 8 1/2 in. (image size, not including margins), each housed in a 12 x 16 in. frame (toning, spotting and some staining to margins, prints unexamined outside of frames). The lower margin of each print includes the blindstamp of "Bradley Studio, New York," and is signed in pencil by "Bradley." 

[Also with:] 76 CDVs of men, women, and children, as well as images after artwork published by J.P. Soule, Boston, MA. The group of CDVs is highlighted by 7 CDVs with southern backmarks from Richmond, VA, photographers C.R. Rees & Co. (4), Vannerson & Levy (1), Anderson (1), E.S. Lumpkin (1). -- Cabinet card of a young couple credited to Davis, Richmond, VA. -- 12 CDV-sized tintypes of men, women, and children. -- Empty CDV album. 

Together, more than 100 photographs. Condition generally good.
