Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 4 portraits of subjects with animals, including:

Quarter plate possible copy ambrotype group portrait of 6 subjects posed outdoors with a small dog. (Some image deterioration and discoloration around subjects, darkening to lower left portion; unsealed, with no mat or cover glass present.) No case. -- Loose irregular sixth plate tintype portrait of a man posed with a wheelbarrow carrying what appears to be a dog. (Surface wear including spotting, scratching, and bending.) No case. -- A pair of ninth plate portraits, one ambrotype and one tintype, featuring a young girl wearing a dress and holding a kitten in her lap. (Both images with surface deterioration, spotting, and scratching, the ambrotype with dark residue to mat; unsealed.) Both housed in half cases, one with detached cover (general wear). The portraits appear to be mirror images of one another, making it likely that one is a copy of the other. -- Together, 4 portraits of people with animals.
