Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 6 outdoor ambrotypes and tintypes featuring houses and other buildings.
A pair of loose quarter plate tintypes featuring a large house with several adult subjects posed on the porch. (Both images with spotting and surface wear; unsealed, both with mats and preservers, one with cover glass and one without.) The tintypes appear to be mirror images of one another, one likely a copy of the other. -- Quarter plate ambrotype featuring a house with women and children posed on the porch. (Image rather faded, with softening to detail and minor spotting; unsealed.) Housed in a half leatherette case (significant wear, separation to corners). -- And 3 other ambrotypes including 2 quarter plate examples and one sixth plate example. -- Together, 6 outdoor images of buildings.
19th-20th Century Historic Photography Collection of Dr. Joseph T. Pollock
Condition Report
The physical condition of lots in our auctions can vary due to
age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and
restoration/repair. All lots are sold "AS IS," in the condition
they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make
no representation or warranty and assume no liability of any kind
