[With:] Affadavit regarding a civil dispute sworn before Lucius Duncan 7 Janaury 1829 in the chancery court Eastern District of Mississippi in the "matter of Egypt Plantation."

David Banister Morgan (1773-1848) served in the Louisiana territorial legislature, was a member of the Constitutional convention, and after the admission of Louisiana to the Union, was in the state legislature. He was surveyor-general of Louisiana and Mississippi, and a commander of troops on the west bank of the Mississippi River under Andrew Jackson between 1814 and 1815 during the Battle of New Orleans.
