Typed letter signed ("Theodore Roosevelt"), as President. Washington, 24 November 1905. [With:] TAFT, William Howard (1857-1930). Signature ("Wm. H. Taft"). N.p., [1929].

ROOSEVELT, Theodore (1858-1919). Typed letter signed ("Theodore Roosevelt"), as President of the United States, to Mr. N.D. Keys. Washington, 24 November 1905. 1 page, 8vo,7 1/8 x 8 3/4 in., on White House letterhead, toned, old creases. 

President Roosevelt writes to Mr. N.D. Keys of Lima, Ohio, thanking him for "a first-class photograph." Further noting that "when I get a chance I shall show it to Stewart and Lambert," referring to his personal physician Alexander Lambert (1861-1939) and Colorado Progressive politician Philip Battell Stewart (1864-1957). He comments: "A man has to have great patience and the taste of a genuine field naturalist to do that work; not to speak of being a good photographer." 

[With:] TAFT, William Howard (1857-1930). Signature ("Wm. H. Taft"). N.p., [1929]. 5 1/8 x 4 1/16 in., on integral leaf of note to Taft. 

Taft complies with a request from Don Wiener for an autograph, stamp dated 16 November 1929.

[With:] TAFT, Helen Herron "Nellie" (1861-1943). Free franked envelope ("Helen H. Taft"). Washington, D.C., January 1941. 5 1/8 x 4 1/8 in., light creasing, minor stains.

[Also with:] ROOSEVELT, Theodore. Telegram to Capt. Coop, 1st USV. Washington, D.C., 189?. 8 x 5 3/8 in., toned, small chips at edges. Roosevelt, almost certainly in his role as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, writes to Capt. Coop to inquire about rations. Coop responds that the "Train [is] pulling at the depot now."
